The QuestionnairesAfter the Vision Day in Parson Drove Village Hall, May 2004 saw two questionnaires delivered to every house in the parish by the volunteers. The results of this survey make up the bulk of the results in this report. Additional information from subsequent meetings has been added where appropriate. One was a 58-question document asking people to supply some demographic information and then give their opinions on a variety of subjects including transport, housing and sports & recreation. The other was aimed solely at the youth in the village (those under 19) and was only a few questions long. This was intended to provide some feedback on the issues and facilities that concerned that particular group. Of the main questionnaires sent out, 211 were returned; covering 471 people (45.7% of the population of the parish). The questions fell broadly into three types: tick boxes (yes/no), numerical (“Rate the importance of the following from 1 - Important to 5 – Unimportant”) or written (comments and suggestions). This led to a few problems, with some people misinterpreting the way a question should be answered but, on the whole the format worked reasonably well. As well as general demographic information, the questionnaire focused on nine main areas:
These areas will form the basis of the discussion of the results that follows. |
